I'm smart, funny, attractive, with a capacity for enthusiasm about various kinds of things. I'm happiest when jumping up and down to music or playing volleyball or doing yoga. I am an editor for a scholarly book publisher and also teach literature to college students. I enjoy engaging with my students, getting to know what they are thinking about (scary as that is sometimes!). I like a good story--both telling and listening. I express my affection.
My Ideal Person:
Someone kind and intelligent, verbal, considerate. Reliable. Reasonably happy with yourself and your work--whether that is what you do to pay the bills or what you do in the other part of your life. Physically active (at least somewhat, like me!) is good, too.
The last great book I read Half of a Yellow Sun, by Chimamanda Ngozi Andichie. Breathtaking.
My most humbling moment becoming an aunt
The best or worst lie I've ever told I'm pretty much a wimp about lying. Not worth the torture I would suffer afterwards.
If I could be anywhere right now Somewhere green and tropical.
Five items I can't live without I get cranky without a decent cup of coffee in the morning. What else? Weekends. Music. Newspapers. Other people.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. intelligence is sexy; intelligence and kindness is sexier!
In my bedroom one will find... space, lots of it! I just moved to a new apartment where I actually have room to turn around, as they say. I am very happy about this.
