I am finding my way once again, as I reinvent myself to deal with this economy and changes in my personal life. I believe in taking risks and making choices - even if sometimes the choices turn out to be wrong. Career-wise, I have had a pretty diverse background - beginning as a successful singer/actress for 10 years, to running my own production company and then enjoying several years as an Arts Administrator. My most recent career move involved working as a fundraiser, until even the best organizations became cut-throat. I have now returned to my roots in theatre, doing what I love: singing, producing and teaching voice and acting. I have a thriving teaching studio that I have turned into an income producing business.
Personally, I have given myself nearly a year alone now, since ending a long-term, committed relationship that did not work out. It's been an important time for me to re-evaluate what I'm looking for. I am now ready to explore the world again with an open and healthy heart, mind and body.
My Ideal Person:
Humor, intelligence, passion and honesty - and a shared sensibility. You would be intuitive and smart and aware of the world around you. If we make each other laugh, the rest will make sense - I have discovered that is the sexiest and most intimate experience two people can share.
The last great book I read The Glass Castle (a deeply moving autobiography); other favorites: love anything written by E. L. Doctorow; Executioner's Song by Mailer; Sense and Sensibility... obviously fine writing crosses gender, era and style.
My most humbling moment Getting my daughter through a serious illness when she was 10. (She is now 17, healthy, and applying to Harvard.)
Favorite on-screen sex scene Tony and Maria meet at the gym. Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (Stella!!!). THE BIG EASY, for your standard hot sex scene.
The celebrity I resemble the most Been told Patty Scialfa
The best or worst lie I've ever told I have a headache.
If I could be anywhere right now Hiking in the Arizona desert; rowing a canoe on a quiet lake; going to the theatre in London; exploring the town of Galway...
Five items I can't live without My two children, my piano, Mozart, my treadmill, Health Insurance
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Making me laugh is sexy; making you laugh is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... there's just my cat, a bed and a chair.. (apologies to Stephen Sondheim) and Ralph Lauren linens.
