I am a New Yorker at heart yet have not entirely lost my California dreamer upbringing nor my love for Paris being home away from home. I believe I am a nature girl although this seems to be dormant after many years here in NYC. I am blessed with incredible friends. I have worked in the fashion and trend business for many years yet have a recent interest in acupuncture and alternative health (but for now, continue to work on my consulting business ). I love modern and alternative music yet 70's rock is my choice for backgammon tournaments and casual dinner parties. The first song I learned to sing was Jethro Tull's Aqualung (my father has a love for classic rock and music runs through my veins). Favorite cities: Paris/ Berlin Favorite places: Ten Bells, Moto, Vinegar Hill House, Powerhouse books, Winnie's, Prospect Park, Au Petit Per a Cheval on Vieille du Temple. Favorite things: baby cakes, the view from my roof, old bicycles, Nikon FM cameras, street art, shooting with film, great sloppy dogs. Favorite films: Harold and Maude, Sleep with Me, anything Woody Allen, Ice Castles (in 1978 it was a favorite). (Although I realize this is postured as a disclaimer, I am not very photogenic and am more attractive in person. Ask my friends).
My Ideal Person:
I am looking for someone kind, attractive, generous and quick witted (you're funny, yet not funny like a clown). Someone who within the span of a day can understand he is a total rock star while simultaneously fearing he may have left his retainer on the night stand or sink (vulnerability mixed with humor is a plus). Someone who sparkles when he looks at me yet respects me enough to call me on my sh*t when warranted. A man who values a light-hearted perspective towards life yet knows when to have concern. A man who values his family and friends as well as my own. A man who never pulled the wings off of butterflies as a child.
The last great book I read The books on my end table at present include the Tao Te Ching and Colette (I'm on page 55 of Midnight's Children and have been for five years).
My most humbling moment Dressing up as a 'cone head' for Halloween in the 6th grade only to realize that the thought was better than the reality/ standing corrected by my five year old niece on various subjects
The celebrity I resemble the most N/A
The best or worst lie I've ever told probably a few too many that I since regret telling my parents back in high school
If I could be anywhere right now ...I would be sleeping to the sound of the ocean right outside my window.
Five items I can't live without Family/ friends, the ocean/ flip flops, books/ music, laughter, really good food.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. humor; wit
In my bedroom one will find... Very good sheets, better books, random art, blissful curtains and an appropriate amount of candles.
