Whenever I'm asked silly form questions my mind draws a complete blank...cheesy pop quizzes were never my strong suit....not even on Facebook.
Alright, here's the real reason I'm procrastinating.... I consider myself a skeptical realist or a cynical optimist and yet can still be naive enough to believe that people are really just trying to do the best they can with what they've got. My likes are going to make me sound like I'm an 80...retro, vintage, antique...music, movies, furniture 40's-50's. It's not because it's cool, it's because it's classic. A time when men were men and women were dames. I simply love Sinatra because for anything that happens in life his music makes you feel as though he not only understands, but feels the pain...and pleasure. I can easily lose hours if I come across a great movie like The Apartment or a Top Gear marathon...those crazy brits.
Don't get me wrong, just because it's old doesn't mean it's better. I'm a modern girl...The ipod might be my favorite invention since it gets me through my gym routine and gets me to ignore my car and walk (yes, in LA!) to the grocery store accompanied by the stories on The Moth or This American Life, the rants of Tony Kornheiser or the politics of Meet the Press. If it's not a podcast, the shuffle is filled with songs from the likes of Grizzley Bear, Rogue Wave, The National, but of course my reliable 80's bands are always there.
I love to travel, just spent the summer in Montreal for work, but would love to go back. Although I've been as far as China, the southwest tip of Virginia might be the most exotic based on what they make you eat. Ambergrise Caye, Belize was my last global adventure. Otherwise I've been confined to visiting friends up in San Francisco as often as I can. Now the debate is visit friends in Europe or go south of the equator?
The thing about me...I have a point of view, but love it to be challenged. I'm independent, but I know how to compromise. I have a dry sense of humor with a love of the absurd. There's more of these little tidbits, but you can discover them for yourself.
I'm keeping things light and upbeat so I'm putting a pin in the dislikes....those rants are better said in person.
My Ideal Person:
It's a bit like porn...I know when I know....Smart, funny and adventurous. A man who is self assured, compassionate and has a point of view. I don't need to be rescued or fixed, but I want to know that I'm with someone who has my back in good times and bad. I want to be with someone who challenges me to be better, who has a creative side, an open heart and is kind!
The last great book I read THE WHITE TIGER... Faves are A PRAYER FOR OWEN MEANY, CARTER BEATS THE DEVIL,
My most humbling moment Hearing about how a simple gesture changed a friend's life
Favorite on-screen sex scene Y Tu' Mama Tambien, Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, Bull Durham
The celebrity I resemble the most I don't think I have one, but lately an older gay gentleman told me I look like Ethel Merman????
The best or worst lie I've ever told I'm really a taxidermist.....
If I could be anywhere right now Some place exotic, that I haven't been too before where there is plenty to explore and a beach to relax on...Croatia maybe?
Five items I can't live without hair products, my friends (are they an item?), my computer, books, a rubber band
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. rain the way the sun feels on bare skin
