Well...hmmm...me...
I've just written and am currently drawing my first YA graphic novel (for a real publisher!) and it scares the crap out of me. For a few months of the year I'm a scenic painter making Christmas windows and am covered in paint and glitter. I do karaoke with my Sunday night friends every week. I make my own drawings each week as my therapy. I ride my bike a lot. I drink whiskey. Sometimes out of my flask. I hang metal etchings under my street artist alter ego. I've hugged Joss Whedon. I help out with friends' puppet shows and having an excuse to wear a fun costumes. I miss Battlestar Galactica. I used to teach middle school art back in Virginia. I volunteered teaching art in Ghana. I save my pennies for travel...this year I went to Iceland, Spain, Portugal, and Scotland. I have pen pals and use handkerchiefs. I take a LOT of pictures. I help plan elaborate dinner parties where, for example, I was a human dessert tray. I miss the mountains back in Virginia. I'm stubborn, independent, I interrupt people, and I have a very strong sense of who I am. I have trouble sitting still unless I'm making something. Are there any other weird people on this site?
My Ideal Person:
To be honest, I'm just looking for someone similar who I click with. Which you can only really judge in person. But for my profile's sake I guess I'd have to say...similarly unjaded individuals for good conversation, silliness, and heaping spoonfuls of affection. Another unpretentious creative person would be awesome, but really just people who are passionate about whatever it is they do. Someone who embraces who I am but keeps me on my toes because I like to keep pushing myself. Just a genuinely good man that makes my heart perk up and take notice. (No man-children, thankyouverymuch!)
PS--I have a weakness for stubble. And glasses.
The last great book I read As a latecomer to the comics scene, I'm playing catch up lately. Last books included Asterios Polyp, a huge collection of Love and Rockets, Berlin: City of Stones, Y: The Last Man, I could go on forever....
My most humbling moment There's always new ones...the latest one was when I got my book deal. Humbled indeed.
Favorite on-screen sex scene Y Tu Mama Tambien, si por favor!
The celebrity I resemble the most People say Nicole Kidman...but I think more Allyson Hannigan.
The best or worst lie I've ever told "Of COURSE I have permission to hang this on the wall!"
If I could be anywhere right now In front of a fireplace. In the mountains. Snowed in. With whiskey and Nick Drake.
Five items I can't live without Drawing supplies. Ipod. Lipgloss. Actually...just those three would be fine.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Middle-of-the-night-spooning is sexy, early-in-the-morning-nuzzling is sexier...
In my bedroom one will find... Drawing supplies, Doctor Who sonic screwdriver, half-empty bottle of absinth, swiped props from working on Macy's windows, artwork made by my friends, Turkish wall hanging, a multitude of hats and masks, cheshire cat pinata, a pile of paint spattered clothes.
