Hi... I have been living in New York City for more than a couple of years and I love it. I moved to New York from the West African bush in late 2004 - having spent much of my adult life working overseas.
Like all of us I guess I am striving to live life to the full - taking pleasure in both the great and the small adventures that life brings us. My tastes are ecletic - I love live music, making music, dancing, the movies and theatre. Happy in the middle of the ocean, camping in the desert, up a mountain, hiking through the jungle or hanging out in the beautiful urban landscape of New York City. I am a little bit of a chameleon ... easily adjusting to my environment. I like to keep fit, was once a competitive athelete and now simply enjoy sports for fun. Spend the entire summer days messing around on the water. I own an old sail boat which is a labour of love - but allows for great sailing on the Hudson. Seeing the Manhattan skyline at night from the harbour is a real treat.
I am blessed with a myriad of wonderful loyal and loving friends - but still in search of that special kindred spirit to share love and life with. I am far from being a prima donna, will not play games and will always be direct and honest with you. Life is to short to behave otherwise!
Will you throw caution to the wind, drop me a line and explore the possibilities. I would genuinely love to hear from you!
My Ideal Person:
Passion - in all of it's glorious varieties. An acute inquisitiveness and interest in others and a genuine love of life.
Someone who will sing and dance in the street when you are feeling great. And know how to and the desire to inspire another to really shine and be their best.
A great conversationalist, the ability to laugh outloud and at yourself, and a willingness to try anything once. Must love Water!
The last great book I read The Year of Magical Thinking - by Joan Didion, a candid and compelling account about her year of grieving after her husband, John Dunne's, death
My most humbling moment Oh there are too many ...
Really and quite seriously ... the ability of human kind to forgive. I have witnessed those that have lost everything during conflict (mostly in Sierra Leone) cope with the most extreme trauma and retain the ability to laugh and find joy in life. Observing men, women and children, eventually return home to their villages to begin the mammoth task of rebuilding their lives was immensly humbling and truly inspiring.
It certainly hepls me to constantly retain a perspective.
Favorite on-screen sex scene Team America - for the shear ridiculousness of it all. La Reine Margot - when she has sex blindfolded in a back street. Very erotic.
The celebrity I resemble the most Me - when I am a rock star singing karaoke in my own living room!
The best or worst lie I've ever told Baby ... I don't tell lies.
If I could be anywhere right now I would be sailing a beautiful wooden boat across a moonlit tropic sea - with you!
Five items I can't live without Love, love, love, laughter and love
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Lingerie can be Sexy; Nakedness is Sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... Me - invariably naked. Books strewn everywhere Linen sheets A small pile of chaos Some of my best black and white photos from Micronesia.
As for the rest ... come and find out!
